How do I get started?

There are three decisions you have to make and then we can guide you through the rest of the process:

• Establish your budget. How much do you have available for a playground? Remember to allow for taxes, freight, installation, and customization, if desired.
• Determine your location clearances. What is the desired footprint, including width, depth and height of the playground?
• Identify your playground objectives. What about your playground is most important to you and to your patrons? Is it themed? What’s the targeted age group? Do you have a wish list of primary components? The answers to these questions will help us design the system that best suits your needs.

After you have determined these three things, give us a call at 800-782-7529 and we’ll get started.

How long does it take to get a plan or drawing?

If you have all of the basic items above before you call us that will expedite the process. Two weeks or less is our usual turnaround time for an initial design and quote. If you have a large or complex project that requires theme development, it may take a bit longer.

Is financing available?

Soft Play does partner with a Leasing Company that can provide a lease option that works best for your business. Leasing is an effective solution as it:

• Offers competitive rates
• Requires less upfront capital

• Preserves banking credit lines

Once a unit is designed and quoted, Soft Play can assist with the connection and application to the leasing company. Ask your Sales Representative for more information when your project is ready.

What is your warranty?

Soft Play warrants that our playgrounds will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date the Play Unit installation is completed. Our sales representatives are available to discuss with you the details of our limited warranty.

How do I find qualified service?

Soft Play trains and certifies all of its contractors to ensure quality workmanship and professional service. We recommend that you use one of our certified cleaning and repair agents. Find one close to you.

Can I make repairs?

Yes. We even recommend that you handle many minor repairs that can be done with basic hand tools. We demonstrate some of those simple repairs - such as post pad and tie replacement, holes in nets, and window replacement – in our owner’s manual. Check our manual out for techniques and/or call our customer service department at 800-782-2936 for parts and advice. 

Where do I find replacement parts?

1. Call or e-mail our customer service department. Have a good description handy or even take a digital picture and e-mail it to us for reference. We can help identify the parts you may need.
2. Check out our Replacement Parts (hyperlink) section of this website. There you will find an image and basic information of the most common parts needed. If you have any questions, call us and we’ll be glad to help.

Are there safety checks or plans available?

Yes and it is very important that these regular checks are performed. Your owner’s manual discusses in detail the regular checks necessary to ensure your playground continues to be a safe, clean and fun place for your customers to visit. Review the manual and establish a regular check system with all your employees.

What is ASTM and where can I find information about it?

ASTM is the American Society of Testing and Measures. They establish the basic safety requirements for most all products and items that people use or interact with. F1918-04 is the governing safety documents for contained playground equipment. A copy can be obtained at www.astm.org

What do I clean my playground with?

Your owner’s manual contains our recommended cleaning chemicals and procedures. These tried and tested methods ensure that the equipment is cleaned without lasting or detrimental affects. Remember, never use petroleum based cleaners on the playground equipment. It can damage the part and even weaken the structural integrity.

Are service programs available?

Soft Play does not offer a service program but many of the local or regional service companies do. They can establish regular visits to ensure that your system is maintained at its optimal level.

Is your equipment built for indoor or outdoor use?

Both. While a majority of our systems are built specifically for indoor applications, our products are made of weather resistant materials and are commonly found outdoors as well. Aside from some play panels or electrical accessories, most all our products are usable outdoors.

Is safety flooring required?

According to ASTM F1918-04, safety flooring is recommended at all entrances and exits of a contained playground. There are many types of safety flooring and Soft Play offers two types but you have the option to provide your own. We show on all our designs the area that is recommended by ASTM and can even include it with our contract and installation for your convenience. 

Do you sell "used" equipment?

No. Playground equipment is required to meet stringent safety standards. Used equipment may not meet those requirements as we cannot certify how well they were maintained. Soft Play only sells OEM factory new equipment to ensure a quality product.

Does Soft Play equipment meet ASTM and other international codes?

Soft Play designs and builds our equipment to meet US safety standards for ASTM. Some countries utilize different standards. If you have questions about whether a specific Soft Play component meets another country’s standards, just ask and we’ll find out for you.
