Playground Safety Surfacing
An important aspect of providing a safe play environment is the installation of a high-quality, impact-absorbing surfacing. That's why it's important to have properly installed surfacing that meets current safety guidelines. In past years, people would use carpet as their surface material, but it didn't provide any impact attenuation to prevent injury. At Soft Play, our greatest concern is the safety of the children playing on or around our playground equipment. To assist our customers with providing a safe play environment, Soft Play offers both Poured-In-Place and Modular Tile safety surfacing systems.

Pour-In-Place
Pour-In-Place surfacing is a good choice for either indoor or outdoor applications. The product, made up of 75 – 80 percent recycled rubber, is mixed on site. Then, the initial layer is poured and troweled into place. After drying overnight, the base receives a top color coat. The beauty of this product is that is comes in six solid colors, nine speckled mixes, as well as customizable patterns such as streams, stones, numbers and letters.
Modular Tiles
Soft, yet durable, Modular Tiles are made from crumb recycled rubber and are used most often over a finished floor. They are laid like ceramic tiles and may be glued down or allowed to float with interlocking clips. Tiles offer a high level of safety, provide for good drainage in outdoor applications, and allow for wheelchair accessibility. Soft Play’s tiles com in five solid colors and five speckled mixes.
