Skukuzoo is a jungle-themed family entertainment center, whose playground covers 8,000 square feet in the Savannah Mall. Before Skukuzoo, owner Michael Cohen had never been involved with family entertainment centers.
Cohen, an official Olympic coach for the 2000 and 2004 American female weight lifting team, said, “I have a passion for the health of our kids. With the Soft Play playground, I can realize my most important priority: seeing children leave our play center with great big smiles and sweaty faces.”
Needless to say, Cohen’s Skukuzoo is a busy place. It’s not unusual to host 300 children per day, many of whom are regulars. “This weekend alone, we have 28 parties ranging from eight to 75 children,” he said.
“The addition of Skukuzoo has been beneficial for both the play center and the mall. It has created a family-friendly environment every retail center aspires to. Several establishments have reported growth since Skukuzoo’s addition, including adjacent food vendors and department stores,” Savannah Mall Manager Nathan Kelly said. “Plus, everyone in the community knows Mike Cohen would not be associated with anything less than first-class. We appreciate working with him.”
