Breckenridge Rec Center
The town of Breckenridge, Colorado carved out a 2,800 square foot children’s wing out of an old weight room of its newly remodeled rec center and asked Soft Play to design, build, and install a new year-round children’s playground. Living with kids in a mountain ski town can be difficult during the winter months, there is not a lot to do and there’s not a lot of places to take little ones until they can ski and enjoy the outdoors. Breckenridge Rec Center knew an indoor playground could really improve the landscape for its youngest residents and their parents.
The indoor play area features a large contained play tower structure for children 4-12 years old, complete with slides, ropes, nets, and all sorts of challenging elements to climb under and over. Soft-foam play elements strategically placed just in front of the tower help to create an immersive environment where children feel like they are on their own outdoor expedition.
With the addition of the childrens play area, the town of Breckenridge can now boast to having one of only a few indoor play areas in Summit County. This provides a point of differentiation for residents and visitors to the area because now they can find activities to entertain the entire family.
