The vision for the Fishers Recreation Center was to create a destination that brought families together through movement, play, and connection. The goal was to design a dynamic indoor environment that encouraged active lifestyles, supported all ages and abilities, and became a defining feature of the community. By integrating innovative play experiences with thoughtful design, the space would inspire exploration, confidence, and shared experiences—positioning the recreation center as a vibrant hub for family engagement.

The challenge was to deliver a highly engaging play environment that could serve a wide age range while fitting seamlessly within a multi-use community facility. The solution needed to balance excitement with safety, provide inclusive access, and offer long-term durability—all within a cohesive design that complemented the center’s broader vision. Creating a space that was equally appealing to toddlers, older children, and caregivers required careful planning, technical expertise, and a commitment to innovation in both form and function.

 

Features of the Fishers Rec Center

Uniquely designed to fit within the epicenter of the rec center, our Skycourse, from the Adventure Series Playgrounds, steals the show as the main focal point of the building.

  • Abstract Soft Foam Sculptures: Let imagination run wild as children play across abstract play sculptures, designed for toddler to young children. Soft, playable, and safe, giving parents ease and comfort.
  • Adventures Series –  SKYCOURSE: 
    • Three Contained Play Towers: Leveraging our pre-designed SKYCOURSE playground, children can explore our non-belayed high adventure course.  Designed to enhance the play experience by providing different levels of challenge while offering the thrill of a high-ropes course without the need for a harness.
    • Sky Slide: Thrilling adventure from the top of the towers, slide down with excitement and smiles.
    • Hive, Circle and Belt Skyways: Climb from one tower to the other, through contained skyways, made with TuffNet materials, to keep kids, contained and safe, while integrating physical endurance on floating obstacles.
    • Scoop Climbers: Children can traverse their way up and down a tower through uniquely designed scoops. The scoops also serve as sitting place for rest.
